Generic outbound asks buyers to care on the seller's schedule. Pull → Signal → Push builds recognition before the buying trigger, detects a real reason to engage, and starts the conversation at the right time.
For Seed-to-Series B AgTech founders building the transition from founder-led to repeatable sales.
Different populations and methodologies — not one benchmark. Belkins counts unique replies against total sends, so its rates are not comparable with studies that measure replies against opens. Together they point to one problem: buyers now control when seller engagement begins. Sources: Belkins, Gartner, 6sense.
AI made it trivial to build a list, enrich every account, generate a personalized opening, and run a sequence. Every other sales team has the same machinery.
That solved a production problem for sellers. It did not create more attention among buyers.
Growing AgTech ventures from zero taught me that sitting neatly inside your ICP does not mean someone has been waiting for your email. They may have the problem, the budget, and the right title — and still not care today.
The buyer still has one inbox.
Gartner found that 73% of B2B buyers actively avoid suppliers that send irrelevant outreach. A polished message is still irrelevant when it arrives without timing, context, or a problem the buyer wants to solve today.
The answer is not to stop outbound and hope buyers find the website. It is to change the sequence.
Three motions, three different jobs. Treating any one of them as the whole strategy creates a predictable weakness.
AgTech buyers rarely name the problem in your language. A grower thinks about labor, yield variability, or the risk of changing a proven process. A food company thinks about continuity of supply. A distributor thinks about margin. None of them wakes up asking for your product category.
Pull closes that gap. It makes the market recognize the problem and associate your company with a credible way of thinking about it. That is not the same as more content. Two sharp, evidence-backed ideas repeated consistently beat a daily stream of generic advice.
An ICP describes potential fit. It is not evidence of demand, urgency, budget, or permission.
A signal is an observable change that may alter one of those conditions. The word "may" matters. A funding announcement is not permission to send the same congratulatory pitch as everyone else. It is a reason to investigate what the funding changes.
An ICP is not permission.
Outbound still matters. Waiting for a form submission means arriving after the shortlist is built. Push converts earned relevance and observed timing into an interaction before that window closes.
Modern push is selective. It starts with judgment, not a sequence: is there a legitimate reason to engage, who should be involved, which channel carries the most permission, and what does the recipient gain from replying.
Pull, Signal, and Push compound when they share the same market definition, buyer logic, evidence, and learning loop.
A founder-led team can start much smaller. The next 30 days:
Seven questions. Nothing is submitted, stored, or gated.
Reveneering works with technically strong, commercially under-resourced U.S. AgTech founders at Seed through Series B.
Builds the permanent infrastructure beneath repeatable growth. Scope follows your binding constraint: market focus, buyer-system design, qualification, sales stages, proof architecture, signal strategy, outreach testing, CRM logic, operating cadence.
The objective is not to become your outsourced sales department. It is to leave you with a commercial system that no longer exists only inside the founder's head.
A 30-minute working conversation. We examine your trigger, buying system, commercial evidence, and founder dependence to find the constraint most likely to block repeatability.
If The Commercial Quarter is a credible fit, we will explain why. If it is not, we will say that too.
Come with two answers ready: what changed to make this problem important now, and what commercial outcome needs to improve in the next 90 days. Brief is fine. No automated sequence follows — Alexander reviews every request personally.
